White: Bisping vs. Silva in UK would be 'awesome'
UFC on FUEL 5 marked Zuffa's first trip back to England in nearly a year, so it was inevitable the topic would eventually turn to England's favorite son, Michael Bisping
Surprisingly, however, UFC President Dana White was the first man to do so. Speaking to reporters at the post-fight press conference, White was asked about the prospects of the UFC bringing a championship fight to Europe.
"I hope so,"
White responded, before saying out of the blue. "It would be awesome to bring Michael Bisping over here if Bisping gets a shot at the title. We'll see what happens. I know you guys want it.
"Anything is possible. It absolutely could happen."
Che Mills defeats Duane Ludwig after knee injury
Mills, a native of Gloucester, England, controlled the bulk of the fight. Mills scored a quick takedown and spent most of the round controlling from the top. Ludwig had worked his way back to his feet when his knee gave way.
"It wasn't really a set game plan,"
said Mills. "I was training so hard and was ready for anything. The takedown was there, so I took it."
Kyle Kingsbury suffers multiple facial fractures
"Good stoppage.... Although I wanted a 3rd round, MRI just confirmed multiple fractures above the eye and nose."

Kingsbury was battered the whole first round of his fight with Jimi Manuwa at UFC on FUEL TV 5. After the fight was stopped by the ringside physician between the second and third rounds because his left eye was swollen shut,he walked over to a dissapointed "Poster Boy" and shook hands, which give Manuwa his 1st win inside the Octagon.

“We had trained for the armbars. Vitor’s really, really good at it and was able to lock it on before Jon could really get his counter in. It was incredibly quick, and that’s a testament to Vitor’s skill. We had watched him and trained for it, but he was fast. He caught Jon, and Jon was able to work out of it, but yeah, it was very impressive that we were ready for it and [Belfort] still got it.”

Carwin suffers minor knee injury

Ultimate Fighter 16 coach Shane Carwin has suffered a minor knee injury that will prevent him from traveling on a scheduled trip to England this week, but he will still fight at The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale against Roy Nelson.Carwin’s manager Jason Genet of Ingrained Media told MMAWeekly.com that he injured the knee while in wrestling practice, but he suffered no major tears or damage to the knee.The injury was enough for Carwin to cancel a trip to England this week for a signing, but with time to rehab and recover the former heavyweight champion should be ready in time for his Dec. 15 showdown with Roy Nelson.
Nick Diaz takes NSAC to court
Keith Kizer, executive director of the NAC, said he thinks this is the first time a fighter has challenged an NAC disciplinary ruling in a courtroom in his nearly 15 years with the commission.
According to the filing, Diaz is seeking the "first available court date for a review of the (NAC's) decision with the goal of getting back in the cage before the end of 2012."

Dana White fires back at Toronto newspaper
"Everyone keeps saying, 'There's too much. We built this. We know exactly what's going on in this industry next week, next month, everything else. Things pop up like injuries, and apparently guys who don't want to fight anybody, but it has nothing to do with the way business has been run."
When Forbes had the UFC worth $1.5billion back in 2009 & quite possibly $2.6 in 2012, is there really any need to even mention a declining product?
Bellator 74 preview on Sept. 28 in Atlantic City
Headlining the main event of Bellator 74 will be a welterweight season seven quarterfinal bout between former Bellator Welterweight Champion Lyman Good and scrappy Brit "Judo" Jim Wallhead. Both Good and Wallhead were participants in the season four welterweight tournament where they fell short via decision to current lightweight number one contender and former Olympian Rick Hawn. Also participating on the main card is vaunted Russian welterweight prospect Andrey Koreshkov, who will be taking on Jordan Smith.
The rest of the season seven welterweight tournament is rounded out by former Dream 170-pound champ Marius Zaromskis vs. Canadian Nordine Taleb and Russian Michail Tsarev vs. Tim Welch.
Cat Zingano Rejoins Invicta FC 3
However, that show was called off Sunday night after headliner Gilbert Melendez withdrew from his lightweight title defense against Pat Healy due to injury. According to the official release, Invicta then offered to hold the Zingano-Nunes bout on Oct. 6, but a late injury to Nunes rendered the offer moot. As a result, Zingano now faces Pennington, whose original opponent, Kim Connor-Hamby, was also injured.
The all-female promotion’s third effort takes place at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan., and is headlined by a 105-pound title bout between Jessica Penne and Naho Sugiyama. Pennington, meanwhile, has posted a 3-1 pro record after compiling a 7-1 mark as an amateur. The 24-year-old made her Invicta FC debut on July 28, outpointing Sarah Moras at the promotion’s sophomore show. Most recently, Pennington stopped Raquel Pa’aluhi on Sept. 8, submitting the Hawaiian with a first-round guillotine choke under the Destiny MMA banner.

Chris Leben year out has left him “flat broke”
“Yeah, I’m flat-out broke right now. Being broke sucks. It’s probably one of my biggest things where I just feel terrible. I feel terrible for having put my wife through so much and all because of the poor decisions that I’ve made. The year’s been hard. The year’s been a struggle. The only thing I can say is it’s already happened. It’s water under the bridge. The only thing I can do now is try to make sure it never happens again in the future and prepare for the future now.”
Jimi Manuwa speaks about turning down the UFC in the past
“The first time I got the offer, I had only been training for two years. I was nowhere near ready. I had all stoppages in my fights, but I didn’t feel I was ready. I didn’t want to jump in and then lose and get chopped out, and then be trying to fight to get back in. The second time, I was coming off a long layoff – about 16 months for a big injury. So that one, I didn’t feel I was ready still. But I’ve had two big fights since then and I’ve done a lot more training between fights. I’ve been working on everything I need to work on. I always knew I’d end up (in the UFC) if I kept winning and knocking people out. I always knew they’d end up calling.”
“I’m an exciting fighter. I don’t come to win rounds or the judges’ decision or lay on people. I come to do the business. There’s an exciting fighter coming to the UFC. I train MMA. I train in the clinch, on my back, on top, boxing, kickboxing, everything. I’ve watched (Kingsbury’s fights), but I don’t study them. I let my coaches watch them and tell me what to do. Stann: "Dana said he thought i'd won"
The loss was Stann's second in his last three bouts, the other coming against Chael Sonnen last year. But despite those two defeats, Stann thinks he can get himself right back into the mix with a couple of quality wins given the parity in the middleweight division.
"I think I could still fight the good contenders, I don't think I go back to fighting the up and comers," he said. "I think if I get two big wins in a row, I can get right back to a fight that means something. There are a lot of us to who have gotten there, fall down and then come back. That is what I have to do."
Dan Hardy : fighting for the love of the sport
“It’s essential, especially with it being in Nottingham. There have been a lot of fans waiting for me to come back to the U.K. and fight in front of my hometown crowd, and it’s just not been feasible recently. I have a lot of people that have been waiting a long time that maybe can’t travel to Vegas to watch my last fight, and I’ve got to go back and give those fans the show that they deserve for the support that they’ve given me.”
“I’m doing this sport for no other reason than I love it and that’s really the bottom line for me. If I was looking to make a load of money, I would be a boxer. Obviously, now we’re seeing Jon Jones picking up Nike sponsorships, there’s money to be made now, but when I got into it, it was because I loved the sport. Nothing’s changed. I want to get in there and fight guys. I’m a fighter and I come to fight, and I think as long as you show up with that mentality, the fight is going to be exciting because you’re trying to beat the guy up.”
Bisping: If Weidman's next, so be it
"I was doing this when Chris Weidman was probably getting bullied out of his lunch money in school. He's undefeated, but he's only had nine fights. Listen, the guy's an incredible talent, and he's a great prospect, but he's still young in his career. Weidman's got the youth and potential and all the tools to have a great career.
I've got nothing against Chris Weidman. It certainly seems that I do, because of I've been talking a lot of trash about him. I'm just trying to sell myself. I'm trying to provide for myself, and Chris Weidman's a competitor against me. I wish him all the best. But, I think I deserve it, and my time's now. If I've gotta fight Chris Weidman in the meantime? So be it."
Rampage: I know I can beat Jon Jones

"You know, in my last fight, I fought injured and had all those problems behind that. I said, I'm not going to risk that again. I said, I'll just pull out of this fight and come back strong. I want my next fight to be as close to 100 percent as possible and show the world what I can do. I just regret losing to a person like Ryan Bader. He sucks. He sucks. I'll say it to his face. He sucks. He talked all that trash on how he was going to knock me out. Obviously he knew I was injured because I didn't make weight. I talked to him man to man and said, 'Look, lets make it an exciting fight.' I knew there was a chance I was going to lose, but I don't want to lose a boring fight in Japan. He made the fight really boring. I got no respect for a guy like that. He sucks."
"Rampage" then discussed losing passion for the sport:
"I lost my love when I lost that Forrest fight. I know that I won that fight. Honestly, I wanted to cry racist stuff. I did want to do that. Us black folks, we're good at that. I know I took the fight lightly. I was like, 'Oh, Forrest.' I didn't train my hardest, I was coming off that Dan Henderson fight and I had just a little injury on my knuckle so I didn't keep up training. It was like, 'Oh Forrest, I'll just knock this guy out. After the fact, I didn't react the way people thought I would. I accepted the defeat. I knew that I won the fight, but said, 'he kicked my butt.' I held my head up high, and I walked out because I didn't want to act the fool. People don't know that when I went back home to Memphis,I'm from the south, a lot of white people were coming up to me saying derogatory stuff. There was some racist shit they were saying. It shows your true colors."After his final fight with the UFC, Jackson says he will have no issues fighting a promotion that will pay him what he feels he deserves:
"Me being a free agent is looking very promising right now. I'm not in a rush. I'm not saying the UFC paid me like a slouch. Honestly the UFC pays me pretty good, I have to admit. I'm not a greedy person. I'm happy with it but like I was saying, it's not worth it for the stuff I have to go through with privacy issues. I'm still going to have that elsewhere, but elsewhere is offering me more money."The former 205-pound champion also gave his thoughts on this past weekend's (Sept. 22, 2012) title fight UFC 152 between current champion Jon Jones and Vitor Belfort. Jackson talks about the lack of "honor" Jones showed in the bout against Belfort, by kicking him repeatedly in the knees, a move that is not illegal in MMA:
"Vitor took the fight on short notice, and this is how you respect him, by kicking his knee backwards and stuff like that? He's supposed to be a man of God. You can injure somebody, you can sever their career. You can mess people up for life kicking their knee back like that and he does it repeatedly, over and over. To me that has no honor. I take a lot of honor in fighting. He has no honor. He's fake. I don't agree with his fighting style. I think I coan beat Jon Jones. I know I can beat him. Jon Jones is the type of guy you have to fight twice."Jackson also talked about his current relationship with UFC president, Dana White:
"Dana's a cool guy, I'm telling you, but he's looking out for his brand but what I think they don't understand is that I'm looking out for my brand. After I retire, the UFC is still going to be there. The UFC is going to make money and the UFC will still be going strong after I retire, but after I retire, I have to find other ways to make money. I have to find other ways to put my kids through school, put my son through private school. I have to find other ways to make it rain in the club, but UFC's still going to be going strong."
Anderson Silva: "Chael has learned his lesson"
In an interview with Tatame, Silva reports that Sonnen didn't make it.
"The barbecue at the house happened," said Silva. "But unfortunately he did not come."
Silva recalled the fight with pride.
"It was a satisfaction, a sense of accomplishment," said Silva. "Brazil was placed where it really should be. Other athletes who are supposedly thinking about speaking ill of Brazilians and our culture, our people, will think twice.
"I think Chael has learned his lesson."

White defends TUF against 'scabs'
White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) on Saturday after UFC 152 in Toronto, responding to a question on why he thinks fans haven't been largely in support of the new UFC 153 main event between Anderson Silva and Stephan Bonnar.
"We've been the juggernaut, and now we're going through these hard times with injuries – this is when all the scabs come out and want to stick it to you and talk about this and that and everything else."
"The Ultimate Fighter' aired the other night, and everybody's negative on it,"
White said.:
"Dude. FX has one of biggest rosters o programming. ... They want us on Fridays? 'TUF' was the No. 1 in its time period for men (ages) 18-34, passing all cable and broadcast channels. That's a home run for FX. Is it a home run for us because we're not doing the number I think we can do if we were on Tuesday or Wednesday? No. But it's an absolute home run for FX."
Pokrajac complains about Magalhaes grappling
Vinny Magalhaes tapped out Igor Pokrajac with a beautiful armbar Saturday on the UFC 152 undercard.
Many fans thought it should have earned Submission of the Night, over even Jon Jones' keylock on Vitor Belfort.
Prokrajac was underestandably not among the submissions' fans, but his argument is a little baffling. Via Twitter:

Given that the sport is mixed martial arts not kick boxing, and that it was Pokrajac who executed the takedown to the mat, going public with the complaint as stated is probably ill thought through.

"We had to go through the exact same process with Zuffa when we signed ‘King Mo.' Zuffa released ‘King Mo' Lawal on March 27, 2012. They went public with their release, they put it up on their own website, on UFC.com, Dana confirmed the release of 'King Mo' to the media on the exact same day, and then in April, when Bellator looked to sign 'King Mo,' we had to submit our full contract to Zuffa. We sent it certified mail to their attorneys. Then we had to wait 14 full business days, which is typically 20-to-21 days in total, for them to decide if they were going to match or not going to match -- which thankfully they didn't, and we ended up with one of the most exciting and entertaining light heavyweights in the world -- but, this is, to the letter, the exact same process.
"So it's one thing to call somebody out on doing something," continued Rebney. "But when you follow the exact same process, the veracity of the comments have to be taken in context with what the real world dictates."
Paul Kelly joins the UCMMA 31 Card
“Tellies” had stated that he thought Griffin was lucky in his fight with Pointon and that “The Real Deal” would win that match-up 9 times out of ten. Obviously, Griffin felt disrespected and fired back with some insults of his own, which including jabs at Kelly being dropped by the UFC. Both men then called for a fight in the cage to settle the matter. Fans inundated the UCMMA office with requests for the fight to be on and promoter Dave O’Donnell decided to approach both men to get it sorted.
“I love the fans of Great Britain and if people ask me to get Paul Kelly on a UCMMA event, I will do my hardest to make that happen.” O’Donnell stated, “Kelly will bring the masses to the show and I hope he brings it all to the cage too. I have already got my ticket and I cannot wait.” A member of Team Kaobon in Liverpool, Paul Kelly is one of the most exciting fighters in the UK. A UFC veteran, Kelly ‘s first fight for the promotion was against future teammate Paul Taylor and was named in the top 100 UFC fights of all time.
Richard Griffin is a tough, scrappy fighter who was a heavy underdog in his Dominican Rebublic bout with Ross Pointon. Griffin shocked by controlling Pointon before submitting him with a guillotine choke after two minutes of action. UCMMA 31 is set for December 1st at the Troxy in London. The card looks stacked already and also features the return of Neil Grove, as he takes on the winner of Darren Towler and Dayman lake for the UCMMA heavyweight title.

UFC president Dana White announced the figures at the night's post-event news conference.
The figures represent an average generated revenue of $114.35 per ticket issued. The number of complimentary tickets issued was not revealed.
The UFC last visited Toronto's Air Canada Centre for UFC 140 in December 2011. That card drew an announced attendance of 18,303 fans for a live gate of $3.9 million.
Jones wants to handle 'unfinished business' with Dan Henderson
His fourth title defense now under his belt, the champion says he still has plans to defend his title against Henderson in the future.

Fans expecting a high-octane war were instead treated to a very tight, technical fight. These two could probably fight for 100 rounds without a knockout or submission.
After five close rounds, the judges scored it 48-47, 47-48, 49-46 for Johnson, causing a disappointed Benavidez to leave the octagon.
Johnson said he was surprised one judge scored the bout against him.
“I was a little shocked,” Johnson said.
“I took him down a lot more. He didn’t even take me down once. I controlled him and took his back.”
“Joseph is a great competitor,” Johnson said. “I trained hard. I dedicate a lot to this sport.”

UFC to drug test 152 co-headliners
UFC Director of Canadian Operations Tom Wright confirmed the news today during a press conference in support of the event, which takes place Saturday at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
"We will be doing those testings through the Ontario Athletic Commission,"
Wright said. "When the results come back, if there are any issues, they'll be provided to ... the [OAC] for them to issue any sanctions that they may desire."
The OAC, which began regulating MMA events in 2010, screens fighters for communicable diseases and requires them to meet "comprehensive pre-fight medical requirements." However, officials leave drug testing to the promoter.
Wright, who didn't know the name of the independent lab contracted for UFC 152, said the UFC would like to see consistency among commissions when it comes to drug testing.
"We're working closely with the Ontario government here," he said. "We're doing [British Columbia] as well, (and) any new jurisdiction in Canada to have that consistency so that all of our fighters, (and) frankly all the promotions that want to come do professional fights in this province, have a level playing field to do that. So absolutely we want that. We're working toward that. It may take some time, but we'll get there."

If you look at my history, I've beat a lot of guys, I've traveled oversees did some things, at one time I was No. 1 in the world at 145 and I went up to 155. I'm up there, I don't know exactly where I am. It used to be a bigger concern of mine, but not so much nowadays. But yeah, I feel like I'm up there. I feel like I could go up to 170 and beat some of those guys as well and if need be I can go back to '45 and be the number one guy as well."

I can fight Bonnar, lose and say: ‘you know what, I don't want it anymore'. Or maybe I win and say ‘I don't want this anymore'. Or maybe drop to welterweight or move up to heavyweight. Anything can happen. Every UFC fighter will have their chance. You have to work and wait for your opportunity."
Seeing as Silva's next opponent is projected to be UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, unfortunately for Weidman, that opportunity may been farther away he'd like to admit.
