Lyle Beerbohm Signs with World Series of Fighting

Lyle Beerbohm and Mike Ciesnolevicz have signed with new, Las Vegas-based promotion World Series of Fighting. The fighters' management team at Apex Sports Agency recently announced the signings. It is currently unknown if the fighters will compete at the WSOF's debut event, which takes place Nov. 3 at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

The evening's main draw airs live on NBC Sports Network and is expected to feature appearances from former World Extreme Cagefighting bantamweight kingpin Miguel Torres and onetime Strikeforce heavyweight Bobby Lashley. Immediately prior, the show's undercard streams live on Sherdog.com. Known as “Fancy Pants,” Beerbohm, 33, compiled 15 consecutive wins to begin his pro career before suffering back-to-back defeats to Pat Healy and Shinya Aoki that brought on his Strikeforce release last year. The Washingtonian has since won four straight fights, notably outpointing UFC and Pride veteran Marcus Aurelio on June 16 before submitting ex-WEC talent Kenny Ento on Aug.

23 under the King of the Cage banner. Ciesnolevicz, 32, has competed just twice since receiving his 2009 UFC release after a first-round technical knockout loss to Tomasz Drwal at “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 9 finale. The Pennsylvanian has emerged victorious in each of his two most recent contests, submitting Demian Decorah in 2010 and then knocking out Bruce Nelson 16 months ago at a Prestige Fighting Championship show in Canada.
