Paul “Semtex” Daley slams Bellator over contract issues
Former UFC and Strikeforce slugger, Paul Daley has took to his Facebook page, to voice his opinion on his current employers Bellator.
Daley said:
Just got word Bellator have refused to allow me to fight yet another opponent!!! It’s becoming really frustrating that even though they are not my managers, they can approve my fights.
I’ve got great fights offered to keep me busy fighting and earning, and they seem to want to put a stop to this….all this while, having to pay for my OWN legal costs on a matter that influence my visa outcome…and my ability to fight for the promotion (Bellator) Its bullshit.
There’s a lot more too…with regards to other promoters having to PAY Bellator a “Booking fee” for using me on there(sic) shows?….

CAGE WARRIORS Fighting Championship is pleased to confirm the addition of Luke Newman and Leeroy Barnes (pictured) to its rapidly-expanding roster of talent.
The English pair have each put pen to paper on five-fight deals, which will commit them exclusively to the promotion for the next 18 months.
Newman (5-1), who alternates between American Top Team and London’s Team Titan, is one of the UK’s top lightweight prospects, having taken all five of his wins to date via first-round stoppage.
Still only 23, Newman featured as a welterweight on The Smashes series of The Ultimate Fighter last year and joins Team UK colleagues Valentino Petrescu and Bola Omoyele on the CWFC roster.
Barnes (12-10-0-1nc), who will make his CWFC debut against a yet-to-be-announced opponent at Cage Warriors 57 in Liverpool on July 20, is ranked as one of the UK’s top 15 middleweights.

Bjorn Rebney talks King Mo's return to Bellator cage
Bellator CEO talks about Muhhamed 'King Mo' Lawal's return to the Bellator cage, after his upset loss at the promotions light heavyweight tournament last season.
speaking to Sherdog
"I think he’ll rebound well. Look, Seth has got a pretty long and storied history of knocking off guys who he wasn’t supposed to knock off in big fights. Mo is a tall order and Mo has been back training since about 24 hours after the spinning back fist loss to Emanuel. I know Mo’s 100-percent focused. I know Mo’s working on every conceivable part of his game. I know he’s just been studying tape like a wild dog and he’s been training like his life depends on it, which it does. This is a huge, important fight for King Mo, and equally it’s a huge, important fight for Seth. … I think Mo is going to be as prepared for this fight as we have ever seen him prepared for any fight in the MMA space. He recognizes the significance. He wasn’t supposed to lose in that tournament, and that spinning back fist from Emanuel and Emanuel’s prep won that fight.”
“If you look at that last tournament, everybody had Mo pegged to fight Babalu in the final. That’s the way the brackets were setup was Mo was going to fight Babalu. Welcome to the world of Mikhail Zayats and Emanuel Newton. Suddenly you had a final between two guys nobody had ever heard of but can fight at a wicked level at 205. So both of these guys have got a huge amount to prove. Both of these guys never anticipated that they were going to get bounced out of that tournament when they did.”

Miesha Tate steps in for injured Cat Zingano as taping of TUF 18 begins in Las Vegas
Last month Cat Zingano defeated Miesha Tate by referee stoppage in the third round to earn her title shot and role as TUF 18 coach ,But Zingano Injured her knee in training and has been replaced by non other than Miesha Tate.
Zingano told Yahoo Sports :
"I was doing my regular routine, my strength and conditioning. I was jumping over tunnels that were about 12 inches high. I'd jumped over them like 10 times already. This one time, I jumped up and my left knee came down right on track and my right knee bent outward. Snap, crackle, pop, and I hit the floor.
That was all she wrote. It was terrible. It hurt bad, but the thing that bothered me most was the sound. I never experienced anything like that."

Nick Newell Signs With World Series Of Fighting
Unbeaten inspiration “Notorious” Nick Newell (9-0) of Springfield, Mass. has signed a multi-fight contract to compete for premier Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion World Series of Fighting, it was announced today.
Newell is expected to make his debut for World Series of Fighting, live on NBC Sports Network, on a summer date to be announced soon.
Born with only one arm, the 27-year-old, 5-foot-10 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt and skilled Muay Thai-based striker has defied all odds throughout his life, winning over 300 career high school and collegiate wrestling matches before transitioning to MMA.
As a lightweight (155 pounds) competitor, Newell has finished eight of his nine career professional MMA opponents – six by submission and one by KO. All but one of his victories came inside of the first round of action.
“Nick Newell is an incredible individual who exemplifies the sheer strength of the human spirit and the kind of courage and determination that martial arts embodies, so we are naturally thrilled to welcome him to the World Series of Fighting roster, and look forward to having him compete and, hopefully inspire, our national audience on NBC Sports Network,” said World Series of Fighting President, six-time world kickboxing champion and two-time Hall of Famer Ray Sefo.
Newell, a two-time wrestling team captain for Western New England University, also holds the Connecticut state record for most wins (53) in a season of high school wrestling.
On June 20, 2009, Newell made his professional MMA debut, scoring a monstrous first round (4:20) TKO on Daniel Ford with a barrage of punches in Plymouth, Mass. But, it's hard man, it's hard to walk out of that arena that is packed with everyone screaming your name and you're making tons of money. It's hard to walk away from that -- really hard to walk away from that."
"B.J. is too tough for his own good," White said. "B.J. might not get knocked out, but the shots that B.J. took would have knocked out a normal human being. He's had his head bounced off the canvas like a basketball by Matt Hughes, Georges St. Pierre and Rory MacDonald just did it to him. B.J. Penn has left that Octagon looking like a fucking alien. He's too tough for his own good. You don't knockout B.J. Penn -- he absorbs every amount of punishment you give him. It doesn't mean he hasn't taken any damage … he's taken a lot of damage. And I don't want to see him take any more."
MFC Lightweight Champion out for further period to Injury
The Maximum Fighting Championship will be without rising star and lightweight champion Graham Spencer for an extended period due to injury.
Spencer originally suffered the injury in training camp prior to his title fight against Mukai Maromo at MFC 36 – a bout in which the Nanaimo, B.C., product would submit his foe to claim the MFC’s lightweight belt. Spencer (10-1) put the difficulties aside to secure a third-round submission victory, but the pain never went away. In the end, it was discovered the Spencer fought with a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
“I couldn’t wrestle for the last month of my camp,” recalled Spencer. “After the fight I went to the doctor and told him about how I was having trouble and he thought I had a bulging disc in my neck so I got a bunch of tests done but nothing was wrong.
“So I got my shoulder x-rayed and it was separated. I did six weeks of rehab for that and tried to go back to training but it still didn’t feel right. Finally I just went and got an MRI and that’s how they found the tear.”
It’s unclear just how long Spencer will be sidelined. First and foremost, he needs to get on the operating table and get surgery to repair the tear.
“I’m very frustrated,” offered Spencer. “The first surgeon I talked to had a two-year waiting list. I’ve got a consult with a different doctor on July 31.
“If I don’t like what he says I’m going to just get it done privately. For now, I’m just working to get enough hours so I can get disability while I’m rehabbing. It doesn’t really bug me too bad unless I wrestle or lift weights but there no way it can hold up to training every day.”
The injury shelves Spencer’s desire to not only defend the lightweight belt but also his attempt to become the MFC’s first double-belt holder with his quest to win the featherweight title as well. Spencer is currently on a five-fight winning streak which includes two wins over Maromo and a decision victory over Shane Nelson at MFC 35.
“It couldn’t have happened at a worse time,” said Spencer, who was training with Team Alpha Male. “I was going to rent a place in Sacramento so I could be training there all the time and my wife could come down when she was available.
“Plus the MFC has been getting me so much recognition. Now I’m going to have to build it all up again.”

BAMMA Champion Rob C4 Sinclair signs with Bellator
After a scouting expedition that took Bellator Talent Development Director and former MMA fighter Zach Light throughout the United Kingdom, Bellator has added three English standouts to the roster as Martin Stapleton, Rob Sinclair and Paul Sass have all signed long-term promotional agreements with Bellator MMA.
“Our talent development team does the best job in MMA by bringing hugely talented fighters to Bellator from around the globe,” Bellator CEO and Chairman Bjorn Rebney said. “The number one question I get from fans is ‘when will a UK television deal be completed with Bellator?’ With these three signings, along with a roster already featuring the likes of Paul “Semtex” Daley, Ronnie Mann and Michael Page, we are setting the table for making Bellator an every week televised occurrence in the UK.”
Only 24, Sass joins Bellator sporting an impress 13-2 record including victories over Jacob Volkmann and Michael Johnson. Training under the tutelage of Luta Livre master Marcelo Brigadeiro in Liverpool, Sass will be featured prominently with Bellator over the coming months, including a possible tournament appearance in 2014.
“I’m incredibly excited to get the chance to compete with Bellator,” Sass said. “After meeting with their staff and having a clear understanding of what’s next, I can’t wait to get into the cage and get into my first tournament.”
Armed with a devastating arsenal of knockout power, Rob Sinclair isn’t willing to waste any more time. At 33, Sinclair has done everything and more in the UK, compiling a 12-2 record that includes 10 finishes over his seven year professional career. Remarkably, Sinclair has never trained full time, instead working as an engineer to provide for his family Manchester. After meeting with the Bellator staff, it was obvious to Sinclar it was now or never.
“This is something I’ve wanted for a long time, but the timing has just never been right,” Sinclair said. “After meeting with Bellator and talking to guys like Paul Daley and Ronnie Mann, it really seemed like the perfect fit. This chance with Bellator will give me the opportunity to fully train and prepare for fight like I should, and with a full camp in place, the lightweights in Bellator better be on notice.”
Stapleton opened eyes recently after winning an eight man, one night tournament held in England last December. It put Stapleton back on the map after three years of duty with the Royal Marine Commando Unit forced the man they call “.50 Cal” away from the cage. Back and ready for a long tournament run, Stapleton is eager to get his Bellator career started.
“This is an awesome opportunity for me to get a chance to show the world what I’m capable of, and not to sleep on a guy like me,” Stapleton said. “I’ve worked my ass off over the last few years for this exact opportunity, and I’m not going to let it get away from me. The lightweight division in Bellator is stacked, and it just got a little deeper with me.”

UFC suspends Nate Diaz for 90 days, fines him $20,000
"The language used in his tweet was regrettable, offensive and inconsistent with the values and culture of the organization, and is not tolerated," the statement read.
UFC officials issued a statement that said the company had suspended Diaz pending an investigation, and then
“We are very disappointed by Nate Diaz’s comments, which are in no way reflective of our organization," the Thursday statement read. "Nate is currently suspended pending internal investigation, and we will provide further comment once the matter has been decided.”
And that matter now will be the 90-day suspension, effective immediately, and the $20,000 fine. That should make Diaz eligible to fight again on Aug. 15, two days prior to its first event on the new FOX Sports 1 cable network.

Former fighter Paul Kelly found guilty of heroin trafficking
A LIVERPOOL cage fighter who rose to international success is facing a long prison sentence after being found guilty of trafficking heroin.
West Derby hard man Paul Kelly had denied being a major heroin dealer after an acquaintance of his was picked up with 1.5kg of import purity drugs in the footwell of his car.
But after a four day trial jurors returned unanimous guilty verdicts and he was remanded in custody to await sentence.
Kelly, 28, whose nickname is “Tellys”, fought in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) matches from Abu Dhabi to Detroit before losing to an American in 2011 and being let go by the organisation. During his trial he claimed he earned £100,000 a year and did not need to deal drugs for money.
But prosecutor David McLachlan said the fighting money had dried up after he left UFC and ended up losing a “journeyman” bout in India.
The investigation centred around Kelly and his best friend Christopher St John McGirr, 28, and their movements at the time of police raids in December 2011 and May 2012.
The court heard the pair were known as Batman and Robin by one of their customers.
They were accused of using couriers to move their drugs because they did not want to get their hands dirty.
One of those couriers, school friend Paul Rogers, 28, was also found guilty during the trial.
McGirr, of Tollerton Road, West Derby, admitted conspiracy to supply class A drugs last year.
When the verdicts were announced Kelly raged from the dock, shouting: “I’ve got two kids!”, while a man believed to be his dad was thrown out by police after an outburst.
Judge Mark Brown told jurors they had made the right decision on the “clearest evidence”.
He had Kelly, of Cranstock Close, West Derby, and Rogers, of Smithfield Walk, Tarbock Green, taken into custody ahead of sentencing next month.
Judge Brown added he considered Kelly “the boss” in the organisation.

Caraway blasts marijuana usage and talks Pat Healy's bonus.
Talking about Receiving Pat Healy's bonus after Healy picks up suspension for drug use.
"All I've got to say is that's some expensive weed," he said. "I like Healy a lot. I came up through the fighting ranks with him. We used to train together at Team Quest. I love the guy. But I have absolutely zero remorse or guilt.
"I hate weed. I cannot stand it. I've never tried it. I've never smoked a drug in my life. So I have absolutely zero tolerance for people that do it. I don't care if it's legal in some places or not. I think it's absolutely ridiculous. Whether it's legal in real life or not, they tell you to follow the rules. You need to follow the rules."

Full Contact Contender 6: Menga vs Sitenkov
Bolton, Greater Manchester – England – May 16th 2013 – The North West’s hottest amateur Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event, Full Contact Contender (FCC), is proud to confirm FCC 6: Menga vs Sitenkov, taking place in the Premier Suite at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium on June 22nd, 2013.The card will be headlined by FCC’s biggest main event to date, as experienced European flyweight Artemij Sitenkov challenges FCC Flyweight Champion Pietro Menga.
Menga became the first ever professional FCC champion at FCC 5 in March, submitting Mark Platts in the first round to move his unblemished professional ledger to 9-0. Menga, who recently secured his first boxing win, has finished seven of his nine opponents in the first round, with seven submissions and two (T)KO’s to his name. Keen to defend his title, Mengaasked to return to FCC to face his toughest test to date; Artemij Sitenkov.
Lithuanian grappling prodigy Sitenkov (14-9) has faced Europe’s finest lighter-weight fighters. All fourteen of his victories come by way of submission, with a mystifying arsenal of arm and kneebars in his toolkit.Sitenkov has submitted Cage Warriors #1 flyweight contender Neil Seery in 55 seconds, and UFC superstar Conor McGregor in just 30. He also holds wins over Steve McCombe and James Doolan.
Promoter Adam Teh said: “I’m really happy to have Pietro Menga back on FCC. With a talent like that, you know that the big shows are going to come calling sooner or later, so it’s great that Pietro wanted to return to defend his title like a true champion should. Artemij Sitenkov has collected more arms and legs than I’ve collected football stickers over the years. This is a huge test for Menga, and for Sitenkov, it’s a chance to re-establish himself as one of Europe’s top Flyweights.”
FCC 5 will feature a second pro fight as its co-main event, as SBG’s JordanDesborough (5-2) takes on Stoke Fight Factory’s Conrad Haines (6-2) in a bantamweight contest. Also on the card, James Walker (3-2) faces the returning Shaun Hampton for Brett McDermott’s recently vacated Amateur Light Heavyweight title, Callum Brady (6-1) defends his Amateur Welterweight title against Dez Parker (10-1), Coner Hignett (9-2) defends his Amateur Flyweight title against Mike Berry (4-2) and the hard-hitting JoeNazokatov challenges submission specialist Josh Jarvis for the Amateur Featherweight title. Rounding out the amateur title fights is a unification bout as Amateur Lightweight champion Martin Chester returns to face interim champ Lee Richardson.
Adam Teh said… “On June 22nd, we’ll have more titles than the House of Lords! Brett McDermott had a great run as our ammy light heavyweight champ, and I’m confident that either Hampton or Walker can fill those shoes. It’ll be great to clear up the lightweight title picture too, with two solid submission stylists tangling for the title of undisputed champion. Joe Naz and Josh Jarvis is a great styles clash, while Brady vs Parker and Hignett vsBerry both promise fireworks. With 16 other Unified Amateur rules bouts confirmed, FCC continues to offer the best value ticket in town. FCC 6 is not to be missed!”
