THE CAGE WARRIORS roster continues to expand, with the organisation pleased to announce that it has secured the services of former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver.
Pulver has signed a deal which will see him fight exclusively for CWFC outside of the USA. The 37-year-old will also travel to Cage Warriors events to host seminars and meet-and-greet sessions with fans.
A native of Washington, Pulver (25-16-1) was the UFC’s first lightweight champion having defeated Caol Uno to take the title in February 2001. He successfully defended the belt against both Dennis Hallman and BJ Penn.
Pulver was a coach on Season 5 of The Ultimate Fighter and also has a wealth of experience on other top promotions such as Pride FC and WEC.
“Jens Pulver is a legend in the sport and we’re delighted to have him on board,” said Cage Warriors director Graham Boylan.
“He can bring a lot to Cage Warriors as an organisation, both in and out of the cage, and the fact that a guy of this stature wants to be associated with Cage Warriors gives people an indication of our standing at this moment in time.”
Pulver, who will debut for the organisation at Cage Warriors 47 in Dublin on June 2, said: “I am very excited to work with Graham and to be a part of the international dominance that is Cage Warriors.
“I look forward to the fights and the appearances in the international venues. I plan to show the rest of the world why I was world champion and why I will be again.”
