Chad Griggs slugs it out with Gian Villante before pulling off first round TKO win inside the cage

Strikeforce heavyweight star on the rise, Chad Griggs tonight proved his win over Bobby Lashley was not a fluke when he slugged it out with highly touted prospect, Gian Villante in East Rutherford, New Jersey before pulling off an impressive first round TKO win inside the cage.
Griggs with a big right hand to begin, followed by a series of knees as he looks to bring the pressure early on. The two swing wildly before breaking. Griggs pours it on again after a brief break, backing Villante up with a series of big shots which seem to have him hurt. Villante gathers himself and pushes Griggs up against the fence before he breaks free and lands a couple of big shots. Villante is hurt again but fires back with a few shots of his own. Griggs pours it on once again before Villante this time rocks Griggs with a big combination including a head kick. The referee briefly stops the fight to put Villante’s mouthpiece back in. Griggs pours it on again after the restart, dropping Villante with a big combination. Villante gets back to his feet but Griggs is on him, dropping him again before following up with a barrage of punches. The referee is forced to step in and end it.
