Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Tito Ortiz has explained his decision to turn down the offer to rematch Rashad Evans, an opponent he fought to a draw with just a couple of years ago, explaining it’s time he made the right choices in his career and with just three and a half weeks to prepare this wouldn’t be a good decision to make. Posting via his Twitter account Ortiz said:
“I have a life and things to take care of. The fight game is about making the right choices of my career. If you knew what I have been going through you all would understand. Peaking for a fight is what makes a fighter unstoppable! Timing is everything in life. This is a rebuild year for me not do or die. The time will come again! #positive.”
It appears another former light heavyweight champion in the form of karate expert, Lyoto Machida will be the man to step up to the plate and rematch Evans, a fight that is likely to excite fans more so than the original bout with Phil Davis.
