The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale draws reported 1,857 attendees for $429K live gate

LAS VEGAS – The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale, which took place Saturday night at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, drew a reported 1,857 attendees for a live gate of $429,000.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) learned of the numbers while at the event's post-fight press conference, though the official figures will be verified by the Nevada State Athletic Commission early next week.

The 11-bout event concluded the latest season of the UFC's reality series, "The Ultimate Fighter," and aired on Spike TV.

While the number of comp tickets was not released, the reported figures indicate an average revenue of $231.02 per ticket issued. By comparison, December's The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale drew an official 1,903 spectators for a $380,025.

Welterweight Tony Ferguson (11-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) was crowned the season 13 champion in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale after earning a first-round TKO over fellow finalist Ramsey Nijem (4-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC).

Additionally, the co-main event between saw lightweight Clay Guida (29-11 MMA, 9-5 UFC) earn a unanimous decision over former WEC champion Anthony Pettis (13-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC).

The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale was the ninth-consecutive TUF finale to be held at The Pearl. The first-ever finale took place at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, while seasons two, three and four concluded at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, also in Las Vegas.

The Pearl has also recently named the new home of the Strikeforce Challengers series.
