Speaking via Tatame Magazine, Oliveira said:
“I was caught by surprise with Bart’s injury… I was training when my manager called me. I didn’t answer it, and then he called at the gym’s front desk and asked me about my visa, and I told him it was alright. So he started dealing with Joe Silva and God gave this great bless to me and brought me this breaking news. Welcome back to the UFC (laughs).
“I hope a big fight, with a lot of striking, Wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu. We’ll battle in there, we’ll put on a good show for the fans. He’s much strong, but I also have the spiciness of a Pernambuco’s couscous (laughs)… I’ll keep moving a lot.”
“I’ve always given my best in my bouts, but now I’ll give my whole life. I’m much more experienced so I won’t put myself under so much pressure. I love it, I’ll go there and I’ll do a good presentation. You can hope for much determination, heart and my willingness to win and finish this bout.”
Oliveira went 1-2 with the Las Vegas based promotion last time out, getting cut following his second loss inside the octagon. Since then he has amassed an impressive four wins in a row, earning him a second chance.
