Jamie Varner on getting cut from the Zuffa ranks: “When I got cut I felt like my girlfriend dumped me”

Former WEC lightweight champion, Jamie Varner has been speaking further about how he felt after getting cut from the Zuffa LLC. ranks explaining it felt just like when his girlfriend dumped him.
Speaking via MMAFighting.com Varner said:
“When I got cut I felt like my girlfriend dumped me. I’ve been with Zuffa for five years. I dropped out of college. I’ve been chasing this dream, all in… I never said no to a fight. Whenever they asked me to fight, I fought.”
“There’s still some tread on these tires. There’s still some fights to be fought and some battles to be won. … I want to get back in the UFC and fight in the UFC.”
Varner had been one name mentioned as a potential opponent for DREAM lightweight champion, Shinya Aoki on the DREAM 17 card at the end of the month but it is thought that the former WEC champ was looking for his purse up front after hearing all sorts of stories about fighters not getting paid in Japan.
