A lightweight battle between Brazilian submission ace, Thiago Tavares and veteran striker, Spencer Fisher has today been revealed for the UFC in Rio card on August 28th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The news comes via Brazilian website, PVT who say both men have verbally agreed to meet. The fight will likely feature on the preliminary card portion of the evening.
Tavares will be looking to get back to winning ways and finally live up to his potential after he was surprisingly knocked out cold by WEC import, Shane Roller last time out. Prior to that he’d choked out Pat Audinwood at UFC 119 with a guillotine choke.
Fisher will also be seeking a win in this one after falling short against “Ultimate Fighter” season nine winner, Ross Pearson last time out, losing via unanimous decision at UFC 127 in February. Prior to that he’d beaten another Brit in Curt Warburton via decision.
