EXCLUSIVE – Rich Franklin only interested in a rematch with Lyoto Machida if it makes sense, not looking to avenge the past

UFC middleweight champion, Rich Franklin spoke EXCLUSIVELY to MMABay this week and commented on the possibility of facing Lyoto Machida for a second time down the line, explaining he’d only consider it if the fight made sense at the time.
When asked whether he would be looking to perhaps avenge the past defeat to Lyoto Machida should both men win their next fights inside the octagon, Franklin said:
“If that fight makes sense, then I would fight. I’m not about avenging losses. You can’t change the past, only direct the future. So, fighting Machida for example, would have nothing to do with my loss.”
Franklin will go head-to-head with former light heavyweight champion, Forrest Griffin at UFC 126 in just a couple of weeks time in Las Vegas, Nevada, and a win could put him in the top five in the current division’s ranks.
