OVEREEM DOUBLES UP AT THE SENI MMA WEEKENDER

Sat 2nd and Sun 3rd June 2012 at London’s ExCeL

Alistair Overeem, one of the world’s leading UFC athletes will be pleased that his nine month suspension from the UFC won’t affect his future with the world’s leading MMA promotion. He may have missed the opportunity to fight for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC146, after failing a pre-fight drugs test but has been told he can reapply for his license after his suspension, meaning he could a return in December or early next year.

MMA fans eager to meet the ‘Demolition Man’ at the forthcoming MMA Weekender, part of the world famous SENI combat sports show will be pleased to learn he will now attend on BOTH days!

Before his suspension, Overeem was ranked #3 heavyweight mixed marital artist in the world. Overeem will join the likes of Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping and Vaughn Lee in a line up of interactive seminars and workshops. Not only will he host a 2 hour super seminar on Sunday 3rd June – but he will now also be at the A.O (Alistair Overeem) booth on Saturday 2nd June for fans to stop by and discover what his mystery appearance is all about.

There are still a very limited number of spaces available on the Overeem Super Semiar, where MMA fans and fighters can learn top tips and techniques from the Demolition Man. Don’t expect any places to be left on the day, pre-booking is essential as SENI have beat all previous seminar participation records this year!

The Dutch fighter, originally from Harlsden, London returned to the UK last year for a seminar tour with Fighters Inc (the sports management and exhibition company behind SENI). The tour was a great success and he promised to return to the UK if his schedule allowed.

At the time he wasn’t signed to UFC, but shortly after his UK seminar tour he made his UFC debut against former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar in what ultimately turned out to be Lesnar’s final mixed martial arts fight. Overeem was awarded a 1st round TKO victory.

Fighters Inc promoter Joe Long said: “I am delighted Alistair can make the show on both days now and fans will get some quality time on the AO stand as well as the super seminar.”

UFC is the world’s leading MMA organisation and have played a big part in SENI over the years. The largest combat and strength based show on the planet has welcomed huge names including Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson, Royce Gracie and Anderson Silva.

Overeem can be seen making a cameo in LMFAO music videos ‘Sexy and I Know It and ‘Sorry for Party Rocking’.
