Quartet sign to Warrior Promotions

FOUR more of the UK’s top talents have been added to the Warrior Promotions stable following the signings of Mike Ling (pictured above), Phil Harris, Mok Rahman and James Brum.

The South Coast Submissions/Gym01 quartet have committed their futures to the management company headed up by Cage Warriors director Graham Boylan.

Ling (8-3-0) is a 6ft 6in middleweight who made his Cage Warriors debut in a pulsating battle with Jack Hermansson at Fight Night 2 in Amman, Jordan back in September.

The 24-year-old said: “I’m really proud to have been signed by Cage Warriors. I have fought on a lot of different shows in the past and Cage Warriors is by far one of the best.

“Having fought in Jordan a couple of months ago, I know just how well they look after you. It’s a great opportunity for me and I think it will take me to where I want to be.”

Harris (21-9-0) is an eight-year veteran of professional MMA and is regarded as Europe’s top flyweight.

The Portsmouth native is looking forward to returning to a Cage Warriors card, having not fought for the promotion since his 2005 clash with Paul McVeigh.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to Graham Boylan at Cage Warriors for giving me the opportunity to sign with such a great organisation,” said Harris.

“I’ve previously fought on Cage Warriors and I’m very happy to be back at my natural weight. I’m heading towards the peak of my career and I’m looking forward to fighting the top flyweights Cage Warriors can offer.”

Rahman (9-3-0) is an exciting welterweight who has secured eight of his nine victories via TKO and is eager to make his first Cage Warriors appearance in 2012.

He said: “Signing for Cage Warriors is a great opportunity for me. I’ve heard some many fantastic things about the organisation and how amazing their events are.

“I’m looking forward to showing all the Cage Warriors fans what I can do. I want the big fights on the biggest stages so this is exactly the right show to be with.”

Brum (7-2-0) is a bantamweight who has clocked up some impressive wins since making his professional debut in 2009.

“Signing for Cage Warriors is something I’ve been working hard for,” said Brum. “It’s the start of the next phase of the journey towards living the dream. It just shows that with hard work and determination you can achieve anything.”

Head coach at Gym01 in Portsmouth, Brian Adams, added: “Everyone at the gym is really excited to be working so closely with a great show like Cage Warriors. Gym01 fighters are always looking for tough fights and I know Cage Warriors can deliver them. 2012 is going to be amazing.”
