Andrei Arlovski, Tim Sylvia scheduled for action at November ProElite event

The newly re-structured version of ProElite MMA will hold its second event next month with an event featuring a pair of former UFC heavyweight champs at the top of the card, albeit in separate bouts rather than facing off.

According to an official press release, Tim Sylvia will face Pedro Rizzo on November 5 in Moline, Illinois with Andrei Arlovski taking on Travis Fulton in co-headlining action. Though no other match-ups have been announced, the show is also expected to feature some of the Quad Cities’ top talent as well as the opening round of a heavyweight Grand Prix involving eight of the division’s rising stars.

Arlovski is already 1-0 in ProElite after beating Ray Lopez in August at the promotion’s debut show in Hawaii, while Fulton is a legend in MMA based purely on his ridiculous record. The 34-year old “Ironman” has gone 247-48-10 with a jaw-dropping 241 finishes including 91 TKOs and 150 submissions. Fulton is 2-0 in 2011, a significant drop in appearances for the veteran who fought thirteen times in 2011.

“Pitbull” Back to Winning Ways at Re-Debut of ProElite

Though past their primes, Sylvia and Rizzo have both been relatively competitive as of late with “The Maine-iac” winning five of his last six fights and “The Rock” racking up three straight victories including success against Jeff Monson, Gary Goodridge, and most recently Ken Shamrock.
