Matt Hughes reunites with BJ Penn and Pat Miletich to train for Josh Koscheck fight

Three former UFC welterweight champions walk into a bar ... no, really.
Matt Hughes is bringing in the big guns for his UFC 135 fight against Josh Koscheck, scheduled to go down in less than two weeks at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
Helping the flinty farmboy get his groove back are Pat Miletich and B.J. Penn, two guys who know a thing or two about high-stakes fights at 170-pounds.
"The Croatian Sensation," one of the legendary old school fighters from the early days of "human cockfighting," is actually the first combatant to hold the promotion's welterweight strap.
As for Penn, well, it's safe to say "The Prodigy" is still one of the more dangerous fighters in this -- or any -- division and holds a pair of finishes over "Country Breakfast."
So what's with the last-minute reunion?
Hughes breaks it all down is his latest blog for ESPN.com:
"I brought in a couple of special guests – B.J. Penn and Pat Miletich. Being around such great fighters and coaches is humbling, No. 1; and No. 2, it was a great learning environment because we all learned off each other. I’m around the other guys a lot -- Jeremy (Horn), and Matt Pena, and DaMarques (Johnson) -- but with Pat and B.J. being around there as well, they would bring up different situations, and then Jeremy would add stuff I’d never seen on top of that. All I had to do was show up, not do anything on the mat, and I was gonna sit there and learn. If I wanted to, I could have charged admission and people would have loved to just sit there, watch and soak it in."Mma_e_hughes_576
Hughes has an all-star cast helping him prepare for Koscheck and he's likely to need it. While he was riding a three-fight win streak prior to getting pasted by the Hawaiian last November, it's not outrageous to suggest the soon-to-be 38-year old wrestler is past his prime.
Koscheck, on the other hand, may have just reached his.
