Condit, Henderson ink multi-year contract extensions with UFC

First Round Management today announced that two of its clients, who also happen to be top contenders in their respective divisions, were recently rewarded with multi-fight contract extensions.
Former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) champions Carlos Condit (welterweight) and Ben Henderson have re-upped with the world's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion. Exact details of either deal were not disclosed.
"The Natural Born Killer" and "Smooth" have both enjoyed significant success since switching promotional sweaters, combining for six wins in seven appearances. Condit has been in the fold longer, riding a four-fight win streak after dropping his Octagon debut to Martin Kampmann back in 2009.
Henderson, meanwhile, has won back-to-back fights since his premiere performance, including a dominant win over top 155-pound contender Jim Miller at UFC on Versus 5 just last month.
"These fight contract extensions show the MMA world that the UFC values Ben Henderson and Carlos Condit as two of its top, young stars," their manager, Malki Kawa, said in a statement. "Both are only 27 years old and have proven that they are contenders for titles in their weight divisions and also have strong fan bases. Fans will now be able to see them continue to grow in the Octagon."
Condit is currently preparing to take on former world champion B.J. Penn at UFC 137: "St. Pierre vs. Diaz" in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Oct. 29, 2011. Henderson does not have an opponent lined up at this time; however, he and Clay Guida have been trying to coordinate a fight together through social media.
