UFC 138 – Che Mills vs. Chris Cope signed for November 5th event in Birmingham, England amid controversy

British veteran welterweight, Che Mills has been snapped up by the UFC amid controversy surrounding his involvement with BAMMA and appears set to make his octagon debut at UFC 138 on November 5th in Birmingham, England opposite “Ultimate Fighter” season thirteen star, Chris Cope.
Mills manager, Paul Hennessy of Showsport International, told MMAWeekly.com today:
“Che has signed a promotional agreement with Zuffa and a bout agreement to face Chris Cope on UFC 138.”
The controversy comes in as BAMMA’s head of business development, Liam Fisher said over the weekend:
“Che Mills is under contract to BAMMA and is scheduled to fight Joey Villasenor at BAMMA 7. Che has not been and will not be released by BAMMA.”
Hennessy countered on Saturday night by adding:
“I can confirm that Che Mills is not under contract to BAMMA, he does not have a promotional agreement with BAMMA, and has not signed a bout agreement for BAMMA 7. I can also confirm the Che Mills will not be fighting on BAMMA 7.”
Mills is on a four-fight winning streak and was last seen in action on the BAMMA 6 card defeating Marcio Cesar via knockout in the first round. He currently stands at 13-4-1 as a professional.
Cope is on a two-fight winning streak after defeating fellow reality show cast member, Chuck O’Neil via unanimous decision on the season’s finale. He made a name for himself in the house as a Ric Flair impersonator.
