Shooto Brazil: Fight for BOPE results

Shooto Brazil: Fight for BOPE was private event, aimed at raising money for BOPE-sponsored community-outreach programs in the favelas around Rio. The Batalhao de Operacoes Policiais Especiais (Special Police Operations Battalion) – also called BOPE – is a highly-trained military police branch in charge of exterminating drug traffickers, long entrenched in Brazil's hilltop slums.
Due to the fundraising nature of the event, fighters agreed to donate their time and risk their well being by participating in this event for no money. It was only after the fact that paychecks were handed out by surprise.
With UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie, MMAjunkie.com's John Morgan and WEC/UFC vet Urijah Faber calling the action, Glover Teixeira knocked out Marvin "The Beast" Eastman in violent fashion. Glover extended his win streak to 13 and hopes it'll be his final event in Brazil before a full-time move to the U.S. and a potential contract with the UFC.
In the night's co-main event, lightweight Ronys Torres continued his post-UFC dominance with a hard-fought unanimous-decision victory over Mexican fighter Akbarh Arreola.
