Rich Franklin targets December return to the octagon, says he’d return to middleweight if his bosses agreed

Former UFC middleweight champion, Rich Franklin has revealed that he’s targeting a December return to the octagon following another lengthy layoff due to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira’s pull out of their UFC 133 clash, as well as admitting he’d prefer to return to the division which he used to rule with an iron fist.
Speaking via the SBNation, Franklin said:

“I’ve always said 185 is my home. But they [the UFC] don’t want me to be there, so it’s 205.”

Franklin was last in action at UFC 126 in February, losing out to former light heavyweight champion, Forrest Griffin via unanimous decision after three hard rounds inside the octagon. Prior to that he’d knocked out former champion, Chuck Liddell in the very first round, ending “The Iceman’s” career in the process.
