Former PRIDE middleweight champion, Wanderlei Silva has sent a warning to long-time rival and fellow countryman, Vitor Belfort ahead of his return to the octagon later tonight, explaining he’s in no way avoiding a fight with him and not to worry because his time will come. Speaking via Fight World, Wanderlei said:
“The day that I avoid Belfort I will retire. Of these ten fights (I will still have), one will be with you. Don’t worry because your time is coming, we’ll resolve this inside (the octagon). What I had to say I already said it to your face, this fight will happen, don’t worry because I will give you what you want.”
Wanderlei goes head-to-head with middleweight slugger, Chris Leben tonight at UFC 132 in Las Vegas, Nevada, “The Axe Murderer’s” first fight in seventeen months. Will he return with a bang and set up a rematch with Belfort down the line? Tell us what you think…By Michael Pepper.
