UFC 136 – Chael Sonnen vs. Brian Stann targeted for October 8th in Houston, Texas

The ultimate good vs. evil match-up appears likely to be made for the UFC 136 card on October 8^th in Houston, Texas as trash-talking champion, Chael Sonnen is likely to return to action to face former U.S. Marine, Brian Stann on the main card of the evening.

According to multiple sources verbal agreements are in place on both sides although bout agreements are yet to be signed and exchanged. Sonnen had been lobbying hard to face Lyoto Machida at light heavyweight.

Sonnen’s next fight will be his first since he was suspended for taking banned substances prior to his UFC 117 bout with middleweight champion, Anderson Silva. Prior to that he had defeated the likes of Yushin Okami and Nate Marquardt.

As for Stann, the American hero has racked up a number of impressive stoppage wins since dropping down to the middleweight division, scoring TKO wins over both Chris Leben and Jorge Santiago this year alone.
