It has today been revealed that a welterweight bout between heavy handed striker, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and powerhouse wrestler, Charlie Brenneman will go down on an October 1st event in a yet to be announced event.
The news was revealed by MMAWeekly.com earlier today after speaking to sources close to the situation. It’s expected that the event will likely serve as a UFC Fight Night event and air live on SPIKE TV.
Johnson made his return to action inside the octagon from a long-standing knee injury when he picked up a unanimous decision win over Dan Hardy at UFC Fight Night 24 earlier this year.
Brennaman picked up the biggest win of his career to date and pulled off one of the upsets of the year when he earned a unanimous decision win over Rick Story after stepping in at short notice for Nate Marquardt.
