When the UFC heads back to New Orleans for the first time in a decade, it will do so showcasing some lightweight fisticuffs courtesy of Evan Dunham and Shamar Bailey, who have both agreed to get busy in the "Big Easy."
The promotion announced the fight booking for the Bud Light sponsored UFC Fight Night 25: "Shields vs. Ellenberger" event on Sept. 17 earlier today.
Dunham will make his way to N'awlins hoping to salvage the what's left of the considerable hype he once carried when he was still an undefeated submission freight train. That hasn't been the case since, arguably, Jan. 2010, and he's currently on his second strike having lost his last two bouts.
You know what happens if he gets to three.
Before signing on to compete on season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), Bailey had lost consecutive bouts against Justin Wilcox and Kurt Kinser, respectively. He turned it around by earning a contract through the TUF house and earned himself a unanimous decision at the Finale over Ryan McGillivray.
UFC Fight Night 25 will feature Jake Shields return to action for the first time since his loss to Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre in a tough 170-pound throwdown against Jake Ellenberger.
