Jake Shields vs. Jake Ellenberger likely for later this year

A welterweight clash between former Strikeforce champion, Jake Shields and top rated prospect, Jake Ellenberger appears to be likely to go down inside the octagon later this year after both men verbally agreed to meet.
A source close to the situation revealed the news to MMAFighting.com earlier today, adding bout agreements have yet to be issued and a date has yet to be agreed.
Shields is coming off a unanimous decision loss to current champion, Georges St. Pierre at UFC 129 in April. Prior to that he’d defeated MMA legend, Dan Henderson whilst still on the Strikeforce roster and squeaked a win over Martin Kampmann on his octagon debut.
Ellenberger has been quick to rise up the ranks at 170 pound after losing his octagon debut to Carlos Condit, Subsequent wins over the likes of Mike Pyle, John Howard and Sean Pierson have put him in good shape.
