Charles Oliveira vs. Nik Lentz reportedly ruled a no-contest but the Brazilian isn’t taking it lying down

The UFC on Versus 4 preliminary card bout between Charles Oliveira and Nik Lentz has reportedly been ruled a no-contest after the Brazilian maverick landed an illegal knee before choking his opponent out but it appears that might not be the end of it.
Posting via his Facebook page, Lentz coach Greg Nelson said:
“Nik wins Fight of the Night bonus, and the fight was ruled a no-contest due to the illegal knee.”
Oliveira however is remaining defiant, insisting that there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be credited with the win when he spoke with Tatame Magazine.
“I didn’t realize he was still on the ground… the knee landed and the referee didn’t stop the fight, then I hit him again with another knee. The first one was illegal, but it didn’t hit him on the jaw, and he kept fighting, trying to take me down. The second one actually hurt him.”
“We’re just waiting. But I think it won’t happen (they won’t change the result). He didn’t go out, he kept on fighting and stood up, then he felt the second knee. There’s no reason to not give me the victory.”
With no official word from the commission in charge or the promotion itself it’s hard to know which side to believe at this point in time. One option could be to rule it a no-contest and set up an immediate rematch which would seem likely as both men picked up their portion of the “Fight of the Night” bonus award.
