UFC 129 results: Pablo Garza soars with flying triangle victory against Yves Jabouin

Pablo Garza Flying Knee KO of Fredson Paixao
knockout of the year on his debut!
Just four months after scoring a knockout of the year candidate in his UFC debut, the North Dakota native latched on an amazing submission of the year candidate against Canadian striker, Yves Jabouin, at UFC 129 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
It was the opening bout of the historic pay-per-view (PPV) event and it was a finish of similarly epic proportions.
"The Scarecrow" wasn't afraid to trade leather with the dynamic striker, Yves Jabouin, in the featherweight fight. Garza confused Jabouin early with his incredible length -- his 6'1 frame makes him one of the tallest 145-pound fighters in the world.
The Canadian finally appeared to figure Garza out midway through the round and began hammering "The Scarecrow" with leg kicks, but the North Dakota native had one last trick up his sleeve.

After putting Jabouin in the Muay Thai clinch, Garza jumped high in the air and latched on an insane flying triangle. It took some repositioning afterward, but Garza finally latched it on tight and forced the tap with 30 seconds left in the round.
This was the second time in as many featherweight fights that Garza has not only been victorious in the UFC, but has done so in incredible highlight-reel fashion.
Said Garza on his amazing triangle:
"The triangle got him, not the armbar. He was rolling but I cranked it very hard. I thought my last fight was a trip but this was mind blowing!"
