Ed Soares says Jose Aldo’s illness shouldn’t detract from the outstanding performance of Mark Hominick

Ed Soares, the manager and translator of UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo, has been giving props to the outstanding performance put on by Mark Hominick this past weekend when he challenged for the 145 pound title, saying there’s nothing you could do to detract from the heart shown inside the octagon that night.
Speaking via MMAJunkie.com Soares said:
“We don’t want anything to be taken away from Mark Hominick. Hominick fought a hell of a fight and showed the type of heart that he has. I was a Mark Hominick fan before the fight, but now it makes me even more of a fan to see the type of heart that he has. That could have happened whether [Aldo] was 100 percent or not.”
On what’s next for the talented Brazilian, Soares said:
“We haven’t even talked about it. It’s a few days after the fight. We’re just hanging out.”
Rumour has it that Aldo could headline the forthcoming UFC 133 card on August 6th in Philadelphia against powerhouse wrestler, Chad Mendes. The fight would be just three weeks prior to the promotions much anticipated return to Brazil, making it a strange choice for his next outing.
