A lightweight bout between British slugger, Andre Winner and former WEC knockout artist, Anthony Njokuani is reportedly in the works for the UFC 132 card on July 2nd in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to MMAWeekly.com a source close to the situation revealed the news earlier today, adding it’s likely to feature on the preliminary card of the evening.
This will be a do-or-die situation for Winner after losing back-to-back fights inside the octagon to Nik Lentz and Dennis Siver. Prior to that he’d defeated Roli Delgardo and Rafaello Oliveira.
Njokuani is looking to bounce back from a loss of his own after Edson Barboza pulled off a unanimous decision win over him at UFC 128. He has lost three of his last four professional fights meaning he’ll be under pressure in this one as well.
