Anderson Silva’s manager believes super fight with St. Pierre will still happen despite news of Okami fight

Ed Soares, the manager of UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, believes there is still massive potential when it comes to a potential super fight between the Brazilian and current welterweight champ, Georges St. Pierre despite yesterday’s news of a fight with Yushin Okami.
Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Soares said:

“I don’t think it’s anything about switching gears. Whether GSP wins or loses or whatever happens to GSP, the show must go on. There’s what seven champions? They’ve got to stay busy. That’s the first thing.

“The second thing is GSP has mentioned that he’s going to have to put weight on. So even if he fought the end of April, it’s not like he’s going to be able to fight in at least six months, seven months; he’s going to have to put weight on. I think that’s still a potential. That’s still a huge potential.”

Okami is the last man to defeat Silva, albeit via disqualification following an illegal up-kick. Years later the two men will meet again and are completely different fighters, but can “The Spider” reverse his fortunes and have his hand raised this time around?
