Randy Couture supports Gina Carano’s move to Team Jackson, assured she’s still a part of Xtreme Couture

UFC legend, Randy Couture has been speaking about the recent news that top rated female MMA star, Gina Carano has moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to train with Greg Jackson’s team, explaining he understands her reasons and has been assured it’s only a temporary move.
Speaking via MMAJunkie.com, Couture said:
“I think they have more females training down there, and I think she wanted to get her camp jumpstarted. I’m all for it. I want all the fighters at my gym to go wherever they need to go to get what they need to progress and become the best fighters they can be. They can’t always get that at Xtreme Couture.”
“She’s assured me that she’s still a part of Xtreme Couture, and I wasn’t worried about it anyway. She’s great for the sport. She’s a great person, and I think she’s going to be fantastic this summer.”
Carao is slated to return to mixed martial arts action on June 18th in Dallas, Texas when she takes on a to be determined opponent. With the women’s division seemingly in a state of flux it will be interesting to see who Strikeforce come up with as a possibility.
