Former super middleweight boxing champion, Jeff Lacy has today confirmed that he’s interested in taking on Strikeforce welterweight champion, Nick Diaz in a boxing match, although he also issued a word of warning to the man from the rough streets of Stockton. Speaking via a statement issued earlier today:
“Nick has accomplished a great deal in mixed martial arts and is certainly one of the best in the sport. But getting in the ring with me for a boxing match is a path he needs to be very wary of taking. I’m willing to put it all on the line anytime, anywhere.”
“For the right price, I’m more than interested in heading to his turf and putting my fist in his mouth and silencing him.”
Diaz recently defended his welterweight title, stopping Paul “Semtex” Daley in the first round after a back-and-forth war inside the cage. Will Diaz be able to mix it in the world of boxing or will he be completely out of his depth against a world class fighter like Lacy?
