Former Bellator welterweight champion, Lyman Good will meet another of the promotions top stars at 170 pounds, Dan Hornbuckle on May 14th in what is being billed as a qualifier for their season five tournament.
The promotion announced the news on Monday, placing it on it’s Bellator 44 card in Atlantic City.
Good won the welterweight title in the promotions first season but didn’t look the same fighter when he returned from injury sixteen months later and subsequently lost to Ben Askren. He returned for season four and after defeating Chris Lozano he lost via split decision to Rick Hawn in the semi-finals.
Hornbuckle fared even worse in the season four tournament, losing his quarter final match to Brent Weedman. He also has a loss to Askren on his record which came in season three. Prior to that he’d won six fights straight inside the cage.
