Genki Sudo comes out of Retirement, Signs with the UFC

After four and a half years on the sidelines, “The Neo-Samurai” Genki Sudo has decided to return to professional competition. He retired back in 2006 after submitting Damacio Page in the 1st round at K1 Dynamite. The reason for his retirement was due to a severe recurring neck injury and doctors told him that there was a very real possibility of paralysis if he continued to fight.
Perhaps out of boredom, perhaps out of pure warrior spirit, Genki has decided to throw caution to the wind as he straps on the gloves one more time. Upon hearing the news, Dana White immediately signed him to a multi-fight contract with the UFC and his first opponent will be his arch rival Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto.
White had this to say;
“Are you F***ing kidding me? Genki Sudo is a F***ing warrior, those are the type of guys we want in the UFC…. F**k yeah! We got big fights coming up now, BIG FIGHTS!”
