A welterweight battle between Brazilian knockout artist, Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos and talented technical striker, Tarec Saffiedine is reportedly slated for a yet to be announced Strikeforce which goes down late July. The fight was revealed to MMAJunkie.com earlier today, adding verbal agreements are in place on both sides of the fight.
Santos was last seen in action earlier this year when he challenged Nick Diaz for the welterweight title, losing the fight via submission in the second round. Prior to that he’d put on a two-fight winning streak.
Saffiedine will be looking to rebound from a decision loss to Tyron Woodley in January, a fight that headlined the Strikeforce Challengers 13 card. The loss snapped a three-fight winning streak.
