UFC 128 results: Urijah Faber defeats Eddie Wineland in Octagon debut

Urijah Faber's UFC debut has been a long time coming, as the "Alpha Male" has spent the past few years building his profile by largely dominating throughout his run in the WEC.
So, fittingly enough, he was matched up against the WEC's very first bantamweight champion, Eddie Wineland, for his introduction to the Octagon.
Well, hello Mr. Faber.
"The California Kid" dipped and dived his way to a unanimous decision win (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
Wineland badly wanted to play spoiler and prove the doubters wrong, as he was inserted as the heavy underdog coming into this fight.
 Faber had other plans.
Star-divide
Urijah had trouble grappling with the taller, and likely stronger, Wineland at the outset, with all of his takedowns getting stuffed. Instead, he stood toe-to-toe with the powerful boxer and outlanded him with ease.
The second frame saw Faber get the takedown he so badly wanted in the first and control his way to the final stanza, softening his opponent up with a few elbows along the way.
He solidified the win in the third by continuing to show how he became one of the greatest fighters in the history of the WEC.
Does a coaching gig on The Ultimate Fighter opposite Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz await?
