UFC 127: "Penn vs. Fitch" from the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia, has officially wrapped, which means that it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $75,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four out of the 22 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's leaving the "Land Down Under" with a second sack of simoleons.
It may not represent his career resurrection, but former PRIDE destroyer Mark Hunt was awarded his "Knockout of the Night" bonus for his one-hitter quitter uppercut finish of Chris Tuchscherer in one of only two un-aired preliminary bouts. "The Super Samoan" put "The Crowbar" on his ass and got his pimp strut on, winning for the first time in nearly five years.
Also hauling in a wheelbarrow full of cash is Kyle Noke, who wrapped his arms around Chris Camozzi and choked his sizable bonus out of the former Ultimate Fighter cast member. His "Submission of the Night" winning performance marked the fifth win a row for the Aussie.
Not bad for Steve Irwin's former security guard.
Finally, Chris Lytle and Brian Ebersole were awarded "Fight of the Night" for their thrilling back-and-forth war of attrition that saw "Bad Boy" shock the world and pull off the upset with a three round unanimous decision victory over "Lights Out." So much for Lytle's dream fight against Georges St. Pierre.
Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC 127:
Knockout of the Night -- Mark HuntAgain, each fighter received $75,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
Submission of the Night -- Kyle Noke
Fight of the Night -- Brian Ebersole vs Chris Lytle
