Who will win the Strikeforce heavyweight tournament in 2011?

We’ve been asking you all week who you feel will win the Strikeforce heavyweight tournament that kicks off on February 12th in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and it seems two men in particular floated right to the top of the list, head and shoulders above the rest of the competition.
Topping the poll with a massive 49% (459 votes) was current Strikeforce, DREAM and K-1 champion, Alistair Overeem. There’s no doubt “The Reem” is one of the best in the world at this weight, some say the very best, and he’ll have the advantage of plenty of experience and past forays into similar types of situations with PRIDE back in the day. The big Dutchman’s stand-up game is possibly the best in the business, mixing punches, kicks and knees together to make a complete arsenal of attack. That said he possibly has the toughest route of all, facing submission wizard, Fabricio Werdum in the quarter finals before potentially facing Fedor Emelianenko in the semi’s.
Coming second in the poll with 40% (374 votes) is the incomparable Russian and former PRIDE heavyweight champion, Fedor Emelianenko. “The Last Emperor” will always be a massive threat in any fight he’s put in due to his heavy, heavy hands, slick ground game and being seemingly impervious to pain. A first round fight with Antonio “Big Foot” Silva will no doubt be tricky but many expect him to reach the semi-finals and either face current Strikeforce champion, Alistair Overeem or the last man to defeat him, Fabricio Werdum.
The other results of the poll were as follows… Andrei Arlovski with 4% (36 votes), Fabricio Werdum with 2% (22 votes), Josh Barnett with 2% (21 votes), Antonio “Big Foot” Silva with 1% (13 votes), Brett Rogers with 1% (8 votes) and Sergei Kharitonov with 1% (7 votes).
