One week removed from the latest installment of their prospects-driven event series, Strikeforce officials are busy finalizing details for the next Strikeforce Challengers card.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has confirmed that undefeated Lyle Beerbohm (15-0 MMA, 3-0 SF) faces Pat Healy (25-17 MMA, 1-1 SF) and Ryan Couture (1-0 MMA, 1-0 SF) meets an opponent to be named at Strikeforce Challengers 14.
The fight card, which was first reported by ESPN.com, takes place Feb. 18, at the Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, Texas, a major suburb of the state's capitol, Austin.
Beerbohm brings his perfect record to the Strikeforce cage for the fourth time. Head of Washington's Fancy Pants Fight Team, Beerbohm fought most recently under the Strikeforce banner at this past May's "Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery" event, where he earned a split-decision win over the highly touted Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro. Not one to sit around, Beerbohm has since earned another two wins for the Washington-based Rumble on the Ridge promotion.
Meanwhile, Healy looks to bounce back from a hard-fought loss in a high-profile matchup with Josh Thomson at this past June's "Strikeforce and M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Werdum" event. A near 10-year veteran of the sport, "Bam Bam" is also a UFC, WEC and IFL veteran.
Couture fights for the second time as a professional. An Xtreme Couture product and son of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture, Ryan made his pro debut at this past August's Strikeforce Challengers 10 event and needed just 75 seconds to earn a submission win.
