UFN 23 – Matt Wiman puts on a clinic to defeat Cole Miller in impressive fashion in Fort Hood, Texas

UFC lightweight star on the rise, Matt Wiman tonight put on a clinic to defeat submission wizard, Cole Miller on the UFC Fight Night 23 card in Fort Hood, Texas, dominating the fight from start to finish and winning the fight via unanimous decision.
Wiman with a couple of low kicks early. Wiman pushes Miller up against the fence but the position is reversed and Miller unloads. Both men exchange with neither man getting the better of it. Miller with a clinch and unloads with a knee. Wiman starts to put the combinations together and finishes with a couple of low kicks. Miller with a nice knee from the clinch before the two separate. Wiman is pushing forward but Miller ties him up with those long limbs. Another nice knee from Miller, and another. Miller looks to jump guard but Wiman slams him to the mat and looks to ground and pound from above. Wiman drops down into half guard and lands a couple of nice hammerfists. Wiman pours it on at the end of the round, staking Miller up against the fence and unloading. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Wiman.
Hard low kick from Wiman before looking for a guillotine. In the scramble both men return to the feet before Miller gets dumped on his back and Wiman follows him. Miller gets back to his feet but its Wiman who’s dominating this one wherever it goes. Big shots from Wiman before Miller drops to his back, Big right hand lands from Wiman as he postures, followed by a big elbow. Another big right lands from Wiman. It appears Wiman is just happy to keep control and land bombs whenever he can and is doing so effectively. Miller is two rounds down after this and is getting hammered. Wiman comes out and bullies Miller from the off. He pushes Miller up against the fence and lands a few knees to the legs. Miller looks to grab a leg and ends up underneath and mounted for a second. WIman starts to unload from half-guard before posturing up and throwing down. Miller can’t do anything off his back at the minute and is just covering up waiting for the end of the round seemingly. Wiman takes Miller’s back with 30 seconds remaining, attempting an armbar and rear naked choke before pounding away in the final seconds. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Wiman.
