Brazilian lightweight, Willamy “Chiquerim” Freire has become the latest casualty of the UFC’s axe following his unanimous decision loss at the hands of Waylon Lowe last weekend at UFC Fight Night 23.
The news comes via Brazilian website, Tatame.com.br who confirmed the news with a source close to the talented South American fighter.
Freire was originally due to be in action against Thiago Tavares on the UFC on Versus 2 card on August 1st but was forced to withdraw after suffering a serious knee injury. It appears the bosses of the Las Vegas based promotion had seen enough during his fifteen minutes inside the octagon with Lowe.
