Trio of fighters join CWFC ranks
CAGE Warriors Fighting Championship has added English-based trio Valentino Petrescu (pictured), Spencer Hewitt and Chad Griffiths to its roster.
All three have put pen to paper on five-fight deals, committing them exclusively to the organisation for the next 18 months.
Petrescu (12-3), one of the UK’s top 15 middleweights, featured as a welterweight on ‘The Smashes’ series of The Ultimate Fighter last year.
The 32-year-old has picked up seven of his 12 wins via first-round stoppage, with his only losses coming at the hands of highly-regarded opposition in Jimi Manuwa, Beslan Isaev and Lee Chadwick.
Hewitt (10-5), a BJJ black belt, is currently 14th in the UK’s bantamweight rankings but has also fought at flyweight.
The 34-year-old submission specialist, who has taken nine of his 10 victories via stoppage in the first round, holds notable wins over Cory Tait and CWFC veteran Ben Hajir.
Griffiths (4-0), an unbeaten prospect who’s set for a move down to featherweight, has taken all of his wins to date by stoppage, finishing three of his four opponents inside the first round.
Keep track of Cage Warriors on Facebook and Twitter for news of when Valentino, Spencer and Chad will make their CWFC debuts.
