"Filthy" fight card.
Middleweight oddball Tom Lawlor was originally booked for an Aug. 27 date in Brazil against Maiquel Falcao; however, "Big Rig" was sent trucking to Canada after receiving his Zuffa pink slip this past month for legal issues.
Now, instead of keeping him on the "Rio" card, UFC has elected to put Lawlor on the UFC on Versus 5 fight card opposite Australian ass-kicker Kyle Noke just two weeks earlier on Aug. 14 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Noke himself brought word of the pending match-up by way of his Twitter.
Lawlor has been riding the pine since a unanimous decision win over Patrick Cote that sent "The Predator" packing.
It was a must-win scenario for the "Filthy" one, who had dropped his previous two bouts, to Aaron Simpson and Joe Doerksen, respectively.
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 8 veteran is well known for his popular impersonations during weigh-ins and entrances to the cage. Anyone care to guess who he'll parody for this one?
He'll have plenty of material to choose from. On top of being a popular Aussie, Noke, at one time, served as a bodyguard for the late Steve Irwin.
He honored "The Crocodile Hunter" back on Feb. 27 with a first round rear-naked choke submission victory over Chris Camozzi.
That win pushed his consecutive streak to five, including a spotless 3-0 mark inside the famed Octagon. Think he'll make it to four?
UFC on Versus 5 will feature a bevy of marquee match ups, including Dan Hardy vs. Chris Lytle in the main event of the evening, as well as Jim Miller vs. Ben Henderson and Stephan Bonnar vs. Karlos Vemola.
