UFC 130 – Matt Hamill on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson: “I know I’m going to break his will”

UFC light heavyweight prospect, Matt Hamill has been giving his thoughts on his upcoming fight with former champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 130 on May 28th, explaining he knows he’s going to wind up breaking the man from Memphis on the night.
Speaking via MMAFighting.com, Hamill said:
“I know I’m going to break his will – I know I’m going to beat Rampage. I’ve been training real hard and my conditioning and my skills and technique, striking and kicking are a lot better. The first time I heard, I was really excited because I wanted to face him. I think it’s my moment and time to shine, so I’m really excited to fight Rampage.”
Hamill also spoke about the rise to prominence for current 205 pound champion, Jon Jones, a fighter he said he knew was destined for the top in the brief time they spent inside the octagon together.
“I knew that Jon Jones was going to go way up to the top when I fought him. I know he beat me … I made a mistake when he took me down. From now on, it won’t happen again. My goal is to get a title shot no matter who the opponent is. So it depends on how the UFC plays the cards.”
Hamill is on a five fight winning streak at the minute which includes wins over Keith Jardine and Tito Ortiz but despite that many fans are calling this fight one of the biggest mismatches of 2011 so far. Does “The Hammer” really have what it takes to get the job done against the former champion?
