Cage Warriors 58 slated makes debut in Chechnya Aug 24th

ANOTHER new destination will play host to Cage Warriors Fighting Championship on Saturday, August 24, 2013.
Officials have confirmed that Cage Warriors 58, the promotion’s eighth event of 2013, will take place in the Chechen capital of Grozny.

CWFC will bring some of its top talent to Chechnya for the show, which is set to attract enormous interest from a region with a huge appetite for mixed martial arts.
Chechnya, an autonomous republic in south-western Russia, is the birthplace of well-known middleweight Mamed Khalidov and current UFC welterweight Adlan Amagov.
Cage Warriors will make its historic first visit to the republic thanks to the support of the Chechen leader, President Ramzan Kadyrov, who is a keen advocate of mixed martial arts and a talented boxer himself.

“We’re very excited to be bringing Cage Warriors to Chechnya for the first time,” said Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan. “MMA is hugely popular there and the people of Chechnya will have something special to look forward to.
“Without the full support of President Ramzan Kadyrov, we would not have been able to finalise the deal for this event and, on behalf of the Cage Warriors team, I want to thank the President for his support to Cage Warriors.”
