Acording to FightersOnly:
A Bone fragments are the reason Jose Aldo was still feeling pain in his ankle a month after a supposedly minor collision with a car while he was riding a motorcycle.
The very initial diagnosis was that he had escaped with nothing more than bad bruising to the foot but weeks later he was still suffering pain and had to pull out of his scheduled UFC 153 title defence against Frankie Edgar.
Having finally made it to Las Vegas for an examination by UFC doctors it was determined that a fragment of bone was causing the discomfort. It was described as 'tiny' by his coach. Aldo won’t need surgery - apparently it will take care of itself in due course.
Coach Andre Pederneiras says he hasn’t been told anything about a proposed January show in Brazil but says Aldo could be ready for that if the UFC so desires.
