Quinton Rampage Jackson has been forced out of UFC 153 due to injury, according to president Dana White.
White conducted a phone conference on Tuesday to promote the forthcoming UFC 152 card, headlined by Jon Jones v Vitor Belfort.
There was no mention of the Jackson injury, so news must have reached the president after he had signed off.
White tweeted: "Rampage is hurt and out of UFC 153 Rio. Sucks!"
Rampage had been scheduled to fight Glover Teixeira in a mouth-watering light-heavyweight battle. The bout was seen as something of an acid test for the highly rated Teixeira.
Jackson (32-10) had talked of leaving the UFC after this bout since this was the last fight on his contract,So does this now mean this is the last we have seen of Rampage in the cage?
