GRAHAM TURNER’S rise through the featherweight division will encounter a difficult obstacle next month when he takes on Matteus Lahdesmaki (pictured) at Cage Warriors Fight Night 3.
Turner (18-6-1) has won ten of his last 11 bouts and will be aiming for his third consecutive CWFC victory, having defeated Antanas Jazbutis and Ashleigh Grimshaw in 2011. The 24-year-old, a member of the Dinky Ninjas Fight Team in Glasgow, will face Lahdesmaki in Beirut on February 11.
Lahdesmaki (11-7-3) will be making his Cage Warriors debut. A native of Lahti in Finland, he’s an accomplished fighter with Shooto and M-1 Global experience.
The 28-year-old, who has secured nine of his 11 professional victories via submission, has recorded notable victories over the likes of Olivier Pastor and Chad George.
Cage Warriors matchmaker Ian Dean said: “This is another really exciting addition to our card for the show in Beirut. Graham Turner’s career has been on an upward curve for a while now but I believe he’ll get a very tough test from Matteus Lahdesmaki.
“Matteus is a guy I’ve followed for many years, he’s got a very solid background and I’m glad to have him on the show.”
