CAGE WARRIORS can confirm that Jay ‘Mean Streak’ Mortimore will face Eddy Bengtsson in a heavyweight bout at Cage Warriors 45 at the HMV Forum in London on February 18.
Mortimore (6-2-0), who’ll be making his second appearance on a CWFC card, will be eager to bounce back from his defeat to Andreas Kraniotakes at Fight Night 1 in Amman, Jordan last June when he suffered a TKO loss to the German after 4:14 of Round 1.
The 31-year-old Lions Den fighter, whose only other professional defeat came at the hands of veteran Tengiz Tedoradze, was due to fight Dayman Lake at Cage Warriors 44 back in October but was forced to withdraw after sustaining a back injury.
Bengtsson (4-2-0) is a Swedish wrestler who competed in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. The 32-year-old last fought when he submitted Istvan Kalmar inside a minute in May of last year.
The Gothenburg native, who’ll be making his Cage Warriors debut, lost to Aleksander Emelianenko in 2010 but also holds wins over Ivaylo Markov, Vladimir Kuchenko and Andy Hillhouse.
