DREAM set to join the ONE FC network in 2012
In a major deal to solidify the MMA scene around Asia, One FC has entered into a partnership with Dream, that will see the promotions work together and co-promote shows starting in the near future.
Sources close to One FC confirmed the new partnership with MMAWeekly.com on late Wednesday night after initial reports from MMA-Japan.com earlier this week.
Dream officials are expected to make a formal announcement about the deal in the coming days.
One FC has now entered into partnerships with most of the major promotions in and around Asia to create the One FC Network.
The new partnerships will help to promote and create solidarity among the promotions, along with talent sharing and development deals with several gyms in the area as well.
Dream has been under financial constraints for the past several months, but now forging ahead with One FC will most likely give them some stability, and even growth over the next several months.
The new One FC Network is expected to produce close to 50 shows in 2012, with Dream being one of the biggest partners to enter into the deal.
Dream’s next major event will be held on New Year’s Even in Japan, and will air on HDNet in the United States. The headline fight will likely feature lightweight star Shinya Aoki in the main event.
Aoki now trains out of Evolve MMA in Singapore, one of the many gyms already under the umbrella of the One FC Network.
The two promotions will likely kick off their partnership in 2012, but with the New Year’s Eve card still filling up it’s possible something could happen for that show as well.
