UFC 134 results: Rousimar Palhares premature celebration almost costs him fight against Dan Miller (GIFs)

UFC 134: "Silva vs. Okami," which went down last night (Aug. 27, 2011) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was memorable for its insanely passionate crowd, the performances turned in by such dominant fighters as Anderson Silva and Mauricio Rua and Rousimar Palhares' premature celebration.
Wait ... huh?
That's right. Those in attendance at the HSBC Arena and the many more watching at home witnessed one of the most bizarre sequences inside the Octagon in recent memory.
Palhares, who was battling Dan Miller in a middleweight bout on the Spike TV broadcasted portion of the preliminary card, swarmed his opponent with a flurry of punches before abruptly standing up and walking away in celebration. He even went so far as to hop on the cage and do his trademark strong man scream.
Just one problem, jack -- the fight was never stopped.
Once he was told this, he got back down off his perch and resumed his fight where he damn near got knocked out upon the restart, as Miller landed a heavy right uppercut that had "Paul Harris" stiff and falling backwards.
He recovered, though, and would eventually go on to win a unanimous decision.

"I said, 'This is f*cking crazy. I've never seen anything like this before.' I was tweeting about it while it happened. It's the second time that he's done... And then, could you imagine... First of all, he does that. In no way shape or form did Herb Dean stop that fight or even come close. He didn't even make a move toward them to stop that fight. He runs over and jumps on top of the cage like he won, comes back, then almost gets knocked out. Just like he did against Nate Marquardt. It was crazy. I mean, Palhares, I went back and told him, 'You don't stop fights! The referees stop the fight.'"
